I purchased this item for myself and for my two brothers to communicate with each-other online in Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii. Understanding them while fighting monsters is an exercise in futility it is really hard to hear them over the roars of the creatures that they are fighting. There are echoes abound with me being able to hear myself speaking better than I can hear them. Our mics are setup near us and away from the television so it is not like the mics are getting direct entry from the television speakers. Hearing them in the city is easier but there are still "whats?" abound.
If you are buying this product to speak with others while playing online purchasing this item may not help with that so few people own the product that you will be lucky to find anyone that you can chat with.
