I'm 14 years old, and I had my mom order this for me. (with the guidebook as well)
I've loved the Harvest Moon series for a long time. When I bought this game it was about a year old. I already had Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility, and when I found out this had been released a year ago, I knew I wanted it. I love the game itself. Some people called it a remake of ToT. That's mostly what I expected, but when I played it, the place looked so different, I was a little confused.
The plot is like ToT find the colored (insert bells/rainbows here) to make the harvest tree better. The style of doing it is a little better for me. In ToT I only did the first 1 or 2 rainbows to get married and have other shops and whatnot unlocked. Then I got married, had the child, and messed around before I got the whole thing done. Now,I'm trying to get all of it done first, because it makes other elements easier.
Getting a certain person to love you is also a bit more challenging. In ToT (with Luke) all I did was go to Brownie Farm, buy Mayonnaise, and give it to him everyday. Now, His likes and loves are different, and "good" is now like instead of love. It makes it harder, but I like the challenge of going other places and getting other things than Mayonnaise.
Here is the VERY important part. GET THE BOOK. This thing will most likely be your best friend in this game. For the bells, this book gives you major help to find, and get every one. It's also great to know what the person you want to marry loves, likes, and hates. It also gives you the events (dates, festivals, child events, etc.) for the game. It even gives you the shop information. In ToT, because I had no book, I was looking up (and printing out) internet guides to make my way through things.
In conclusion, this game overall is great for newcomers to the series, and old fans.Get more detail about Harvest Moon: Animal Parade.
